Hong Kong visitor arrivals off to strong start in 2026, up 9.6% to 7.23 million

Hong Kong has begun 2026 with a surge in inbound tourism, welcoming 7.23 million visitors to date, marking an increase of 9.6 per cent compared with the previous year. Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po also said that 1.43 million mainland Chinese visitors were expected during the Lunar New Year holiday, up 6 per cent from last year.
