21st December 2025 – (Hong Kong) A shopper’s dramatic fur coat has become an online talking point after passers-by in a Hong Kong mall likened her to the iconic giant eagle from the classic drama The Return of the Condor Heroes.
The novel, widely known across the Chinese-speaking world and adapted into numerous television series, features a memorable giant condor companion often referred to by fans as “Brother Eagle”. The character’s distinctive feathered appearance has long captured viewers’ imagination.
According to a witness, the woman was walking through a shopping centre wearing a brown fur coat with plumes of feathery material protruding from it. The exaggerated, shaggy silhouette immediately called to mind the giant eagle from the series. One passer-by reportedly seized the moment and shouted: “Brother Eagle! Your ‘Auntie’ is waiting for you!”, referencing the heroine of the story and prompting bursts of laughter from those nearby.
The incident was later recounted on social media by the man who witnessed it, posting under the Threads handle “sleepla7head”. He shared a photograph of the woman and explained that he had initially paid little attention to her outfit until the line was shouted across the concourse, at which point he “burst out laughing” and could not stop.
Images posted online show the shopper in a mid‑length, brown fur coat whose uneven, splayed fibres give it a distinctly feathery look. Commenters said the style strongly resembled the on‑screen portrayal of the condor in various television adaptations of The Return of the Condor Heroes.
The discussion grew after another user uploaded a separate photograph, claiming to have encountered the same woman earlier in a clothing shop, dressed in an almost identical way. This fuelled a wave of playful remarks, with some netizens asking whether the man who shouted “Brother Eagle” had been “teasing a bit too much” and whether she had reacted at all.
