21st December 2025 – (Hong Kong) The Transport Department (TD) has announced a series of strengthened public transport arrangements to support residents affected by the Wang Fuk Court fire in Tai Po who have been relocated to transitional housing across several districts.
The TD said today (21st December) that it has been coordinating with public transport operators to deploy additional vehicles and manpower, and to adjust services in order to meet the daily commuting needs of these residents. Among the new measures is the introduction of an extra residents’ service (RS) route linking CONCORDIA Tsat Sing Kong and CONCORDIA Sheung Yue River in Yuen Long with Tai Po Market Station, operating from morning until night.
In Tai Po, residents of Good House are currently served by KMB routes 72C, 73P, 74E, 75K, 75P and 275R to Tai Po Market, Tsuen Wan and Kwun Tong, as well as green minibus (GMB) routes 20B, 20C, 20E, 20G, 20R and 20T to Tai Po Market Station. These services have been supplemented by RS NR540, running between Good House and Tai Po Market Station throughout the day, and a dedicated shuttle bus connecting Good House, Tai Po Centre and Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital, also operating from morning to night.
For Lok Sin Village in Tai Po, a shuttle bus now provides transport between the village and Tai Po Market Station from Monday to Saturday, covering daytime and evening periods. At the same time, GMB routes 20B, 20C and 20G have been strengthened, and KMB route 75K has been enhanced with three additional vehicles. The last departure from Tai Mei Tuk has been extended from 11.40pm to 12.05am the following day to improve late‑night connectivity.
Trackside Villas in Tai Po is served by RS NR50 to and from Tai Po Market Station. The NR50 service is being enhanced to offer greater capacity and frequency for residents travelling to the rail network and town centre.
In Yuen Long, CONCORDIA Sheung Yue River is currently connected by KMB route 77K to Sheung Shui Station and Yuen Long Station, and by red minibuses serving the same corridors. These links are being reinforced through the new RS NR977, which operates between CONCORDIA Tsat Sing Kong, CONCORDIA Sheung Yue River and Tai Po Market Station from morning to night, alongside an enhanced 77K service supported by an additional vehicle.
Residents at CONCORDIA Tsat Sing Kong are already served by KMB routes 54, 77K, 251B and 251M to Yuen Long, Sheung Shui and Tsuen Wan, together with GMB routes 608 and 608S to Yuen Long and Kam Sheung Road Station respectively. These existing services are being integrated with the new cross‑district residents’ service to improve overall accessibility.
At THE STEP in Yuen Long, existing links include RS NR976 to and from Kam Sheung Road Station, KMB route 76K to Long Ping and Sheung Shui, GMB routes 75, 76 and 78 to Yuen Long, Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point, Tai Lam Tunnel Toll Plaza and Lok Ma Chau (San Tin), as well as red minibuses to Sheung Shui Station and Yuen Long. A supplementary NR976 service has been introduced, connecting THE STEP directly with Tai Po Market Station from morning until night, offering relocated residents an additional cross‑district commuting option.
In the North District, Pok Oi Sing Ping Village is served by KMB route 79K to Fanling and Sheung Shui Station and by GMB route 52K to Fanling Station. Capacity on 79K has been boosted with an extra vehicle to cope with increased demand from transitional housing occupants.
The TD advises members of the public and affected residents to consult its website (www.td.gov.hk) and operators’ websites for detailed information on franchised bus and GMB timetables and routes. The department added that it will continue to maintain close communication with transitional housing operators and public transport companies to ensure that service levels remain aligned with residents’ commuting needs.
