22nd December 2025 – (Hong Kong) The Hang Seng Index opened on a firmer footing, rising 105 points, or 0.41 per cent, to 25,795, extending its winning streak to a fourth consecutive trading day.
The China Enterprises Index also moved higher, adding 43 points, or 0.48 per cent, to 8,944. The Hang Seng Tech Index climbed 33 points, or 0.61 per cent, to 5,512, reflecting broad-based strength across major technology counters.
Most large-cap technology stocks registered gains at the open. Tencent advanced around 0.9 per cent, while Alibaba edged up approximately 0.4 per cent. Meituan outperformed with a rise of about 1.4 per cent. In contrast, Xiaomi eased 0.4 per cent. JD.com posted a modest increase of roughly 0.1 per cent, and Kuaishou added around 0.8 per cent.
Financials showed a mixed performance. HSBC Holdings gained about 1 per cent, whereas AIA was little changed with no movement recorded at the open. Ping An Insurance rose approximately 0.4 per cent, but Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing retreated about 1.4 per cent.
