22nd December 2025 – (Hong Kong) Police have arrested seven men on suspicion of breaking into a village house on Fung Kat Heung Road in Yuen Long, intercepting them at the scene and reportedly recovering stolen property as well as suspected weapons. The suspects, who were arrested on the spot, include nationals of Pakistan, India, Egypt and France. Most are understood to be holders of “recognizance papers” permitting them to remain in Hong Kong while their immigration status is resolved.
The case has been handed to the Yuen Long District Crime Squad, Team 5, for further investigation.
According to police, the incident was reported at around 1.21am today when a 46-year-old female resident, surnamed Wu, living in a village house unit on Fung Kat Heung Road in Pat Heung, called 999 after discovering intruders inside her home. Officers responded swiftly and intercepted a private car outside the premises, where they arrested seven male suspects.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a knife, a hammer, two iron rods, a ring, two pairs of earrings, approximately HK$110 in cash and about 1,100 yuan in Renminbi. The total value of the recovered property is estimated at around HK$20,000.
The men were arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of offensive weapons and are currently being held for questioning. Yuen Long District Crime Squad Team 5 is continuing enquiries into the incident.
It is understood that among the seven suspects, four are Pakistani nationals aged between 19 and 36, one is a 21-year-old Indian national, one a 17-year-old Egyptian national and one a 24-year-old French national. With the exception of one Pakistani man who holds a Hong Kong identity card, the remaining six are reportedly in possession of recognizance papers issued by the authorities.
