23rd December 2025 – (Hong Kong) A collision between two taxis in Yau Ma Tei early on Monday left four people injured, including a four-month-old baby. The crash occurred at 1.27am on 23rd December when a newer-model taxi turning right from Gascoigne Road towards the entrance of Queen Elizabeth Hospital was struck broadside by another taxi travelling in the opposite direction towards Hung Hom. The turning taxi sustained crumpling and deformation to its left side and doors, while the other vehicle suffered severe front-end damage.
One passenger was initially trapped in the wreckage before being freed by emergency crews. All four casualties, comprising men and women and including the infant, sustained minor injuries and were conscious when transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment. Police cordoned off the scene for investigation and said preliminary inquiries do not rule out the possibility that a red light was run.
