19th December 2025 – (Hong Kong) The Hang Seng Index opened 136 points, or 0.53%, higher at 25,634. The China Enterprises Index rose 51 points, or 0.58%, to 8,893, while the Tech Index gained 43 points, or 0.8%, to 5,461. Technology stocks led early gains: Tencent up 0.8%; Alibaba up 0.6%; Meituan up 0.7%; Xiaomi up 0.6%; JD.com up 0.7%; and Kuaishou up 1.3%.
Financials also lent support to the market, with HSBC up 0.1%, AIA up 0.9%, Ping An Insurance up 0.9%, and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing up 0.7%.
