19th December 2025 – (Hong Kong) Queen Elizabeth Hospital was the scene of an escape from custody after a male detainee allegedly fled while undergoing medical imaging. In the early hours of 19th December, a 35‑year‑old man, who had been arrested on suspicion of robbery and theft, was being held under police guard at the hospital. During an X‑ray examination, the suspect reportedly took the opportunity to abscond.
A large contingent of police officers was immediately deployed to the hospital and surrounding areas to mount a search operation for the fugitive.
