Police told HKFP on Friday that the 42-year-old man and 36-year-old woman were also arrested on suspicion of child abuse and neglect after their 26-month-old son was reportedly left alone at the apartment in Tai Peng. The toddler was taken to Queen Mary Hospital for assessment and appeared unharmed, police said. Around 554 grams of cannabis and 102 grams of cocaine were seized during the anti-drugs operation. Drug trafficking attracts a maximum penalty of life imprisonment and a HK$5 million fine, whilst child abuse or neglect can result in a decade behind bars.
